Netlingeri, a Danish webshop founded in 2006 with a focus on exclusive lingerie, has undergone a comprehensive digital transformation to strengthen its international presence and enhance the customer experience.

By switching to Shopify, Netlingeri has consolidated 11 different domains into a single central platform, specifically designed to handle multilingual and multi-currency setups without compromising performance or scalability.

Shopify Markets, combined with the integration of a new payment solution, ensures that customers can pay in their local currency without additional fees. This creates a seamless payment experience and delivers a scalable, future-proof solution that not only simplifies daily operations but also enables efficient and lightning-fast expansion across multiple international markets.

Advanced payment solution

Netlingeri’s new Shopify platform is designed to manage the complexities of international trade with advanced features that enhance both user experience and conversion rates. The integrated payment solution from Adyen enables payments in local currencies without exchange fees and supports local payment methods across the EU. This makes it easy for customers to shop on their own terms, increasing trust in the webshop.

 

*Adyen is the only payment provider that is technically equivalent to Shopify Payments. Netlingeri is among the first in Denmark to take advantage of this close integration with Shopify.

 

 

Automated translation engine

Shopify also includes an advanced translation engine that quickly translates new products from Danish into multiple languages. Using a dictionary feature, specific terms and fixed expressions can be translated consistently, ensuring accurate and brand-aligned product descriptions across all markets.

This feature enables Netlingeri to launch new products globally without delays.

 

 

Intelligent size guide

Netlingeri has developed an advanced bra size guide to help visitors find the right size (a crucial feature in lingerie, where uncertainty about sizing can deter potential buyers). The guide is step-based, making it easy to input accurate measurements, and it has proven to be a success—the size guide is now one of the most visited pages on the webshop!

 

Additionally, the shop is designed to directly display products that match the customer’s measurements, allowing them to quickly view the most relevant items. This reduces the risk of returns and creates a more cohesive and efficient customer journey across Netlingeri’s product categories.

 

 

With these features, Netlingeri has created a solution that ensures a consistent experience for customers—regardless of their geographical location.

Since transitioning to Shopify and launching a new and updated design, Netlingeri has achieved remarkable results.

 

The conversion rate has increased by over 100%, and revenue has grown by 70% compared to the same period last year.

 

The improved user experience and optimized customer journey enabled by Shopify have not only boosted conversion rates and revenue but also established a strong foundation for further growth across markets.

Netlingeri has ambitious plans to become one of the largest lingerie webshops in the EU within the next five years. This goal involves a long-term strategy to expand into 1-2 new markets annually, broadening its European footprint and reaching a larger customer base. The focus is on attracting new customers in Europe through localized market strategies and a strong digital presence, ensuring high conversion rates and increased customer loyalty.

Strong SEO strategy ensures visibility 

Netlingeri has achieved strong visibility across 11 markets through a structured SEO strategy.

At the launch on Shopify, 200 new collections were targeted toward niche keywords with low volume but high overall search potential. Combined with a natural link structure that displays relevant products within related categories, both user-friendliness and organic traffic have improved.

As a result, Netlingeri has quickly restored its organic traffic to last year’s levels. With a scalable SEO solution, the company is well-positioned for further growth.

From WooCommerce to Shopify

Netlingeri initially planned to build its platform on WooCommerce with an integration to Plytix PIM, but the project quickly became complex and proved difficult to execute.

To ensure a future-proof solution capable of integrating with the desired systems, the decision was made to switch to Shopify - a platform that is constantly evolving and adaptable to Netlingeri's needs. Shopify enables the use of systems such as EasyPOS and Klaviyo, which had long been on Netlingeri's wishlist.

When MCB was chosen to lead the Shopify project, Netlingeri gained a strong foundation and a flexible platform that can be continuously adapted and developed. This ensures the business stays ahead of the latest trends and technologies.

Who is Netlingeri?

Netlingeri is part of FashionShopping, founded in 2006, which initially operated as part of a B2B strategy aimed at helping other businesses with e-commerce, marketing, and webshop operations. One of the founders, however, already had experience in the lingerie industry and decided to leverage that knowledge to create Netlingeri as an independent webshop for private customers.

 

The business quickly began to grow, particularly as Netlingeri increased its own marketing efforts. Over time, Netlingeri adopted a new strategy, dedicating additional resources to B2C sales, which now account for the majority of the business.

 

With the new focus on Shopify and Klaviyo, the B2C business has received an additional boost. In 2023 alone, the company entered seven new markets, including major ones such as Germany and the Netherlands, which now collectively surpass Danish sales. Shopify Markets supports these ambitions, paving the way for expansion into even more markets in the future.
